Our mission is to provide a temporary, safe place for survivors of domestic violence. We envision women and children living in a home free of abuse and a vision for a better way of life. As we assist them in rebuilding and regaining their power!
Vivid Visions Inc. was founded by a group of concerned citizens of Suwannee County after a woman had been found on the side of the road beaten and left.
Vivid Visions obtained land and a building which was immediately utilized for sheltering survivors and their children. We became a Certified domestic violence Shelter in 2003. We have been able to grow over the last few years and we now have a 15 bed shelter, with children's play room and also a playground.
Vivid Visions receives funding from the Department of Children & Families for Domestic Violence Program,
United Way, Office of The Attorney General Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), and from our local City and County. We are required to match funds, so we also rely on local businesses, organizations and our community to help support our match. Without the matching dollars, we would not be able to receive our grants.
Our advocates offer assistance with completing injunctions, information and referrals for legal assistance, daycare through Early Learning Coalition, DCF assistance, preventions classes, safety planning, referrals for housing assistance and also utilities. We also offer counseling one on one or group counseling. Se Habla Espanol.
Carol works to support and further the mission and core values of Vivid Visions, Inc. by overseeing staff and programs to ensure appropriate service delivery. The ED serves as advisor to the Board of Directors and as liaison between staff and the Board.
